EZchip provides a complete solution for implementing Ethernet network processing with advanced features.
NP-3 builds on the architecture of the successful NP-2 network processor. NP-3 integrates a 30-Gigabit NPU, classification engines, traffic management, OAM offload, ten 1-Gigabit MACs, one 10-Gigabit MAC and two SPI4.2 interfaces in a single chip.

NP-2 integrates a 20-Gigabit or 10-Gigabit NPU, classification engines, traffic management, ten 1-Gigabit MACs, one 10-Gigabit MAC and two SPI4.2 interfaces in a single chip. All NP-2 models are pin and software compatible.

NP-4 Network Processor – 100G NPU with TM
The NP-4, currently in design, will provide groundbreaking levels of integration and functionality for equipment vendors building the next generation of Carrier Ethernet Switches and Routers (CESR). It provides a total of 100-Gigabit throughput and features a 100-Gigabit port, ten 10-Gigabit ports and twenty-four 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports.
NP-4 features integrated hierarchical traffic management, OAM processing offload and enables direct connection from the line card to Ethernet-based switching fabrics. This is achieved through a unique integration of the functionality typically provided by a separate fabric interface chip and allows system vendors to utilize low-cost Ethernet switches as their fabric solution and eliminate the fabric interface chip from their line cards.

NPA Network Processor Family – 10G NPU with TM for Access Applications
The NPA, currently in design, is a scaled down version of EZchip's higher-speed network processors and features the same architecture, integrated traffic management and software compatibility with EZchip’s higher-speed NPUs. The NPA provides system vendors with flexible packet processing and integrates key functions needed for access networks.
NPA highlights include:
- Several chip models featuring multiple 10-Gigabit, 1-Gigabit and 100-Megabit Ethernet ports.
- Integrated hierarchical traffic management providing granular bandwidth control to enable the delivery of triple-play services in Ethernet networks.
- On-chip Operations, Administration and Management (OAM) processing offload.
- Time synchronization support through Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE1588v2 processing offload.
- Software compatible with EZchip’s present NP-2 and NP-3 network processors.

NP-1c is a single-chip 10-Gigabit network processor offering fully programmable 7-layer packet classification, modification, forwarding and policing at wire speed. TOPcore® technology combines packet processing with classification in a full-duplex chip. This unique integration eliminates the need for expensive and power-hungry CAMs and SRAMs and offers significant savings in the system's total chip count, power dissipation and cost when compared to alternative products.

EZ-System features the NP-2 or NP-1c for 10-Gigabit programmable packet processing, ten 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports (or one 10-Gigabit Ethernet port), and a control-plane CPU in a compact 1.5U box.

Evaluation Systems expedite development of systems based on EZchip's network processors. A compact AdvancedTCA® Evaluation System with ten 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports (or one 10-Gigabit port) is available as a blade for an ATCA chassis or as a stand-alone box. Additional NP-1c Evaluation Systems are available with a choice of 1GE, 10GE or OC-192 POS interfaces.
